Set in Uruguay, “Pampero” revolves around the nation’s urgent need to reduce dependency on imported fossil fuels. The government is focusing on domestic resources like biomass and wind energy to boost energy security, economic growth, and employment. Inspired by Uruguay’s real-world initiatives and the fierce Pampero wind, the game symbolizes the transformative challenges in the pursuit of sustainable energy. Players become innovators and strategists, navigating the complexities of renewable energy development to secure the country’s future.
“Pampero” is a hand-management, card-driven action-selection game. Players start with eight cards, playing them on their tableau in two rows to activate actions on the board. Each turn, players can play a card to the leftmost empty space or retrieve all cards from their tableau. After three actions, the consolidation phase begins, where players retrieve a card, generate batteries, collect income, and advance the game timer. The player with the most money at the end wins, balancing immediate actions with long-term strategy.
